In the lab, we spend time evaluating newer disruptive technologies and their application in solving real-world problems. In some cases, we simply look to improve on our own processes and frameworks so that we can better serve our clients.

Every experiment is purposeful and those that demonstrate value are invested in further. Several products have spawn from our lab.

StockTek

At Daddin, we’ve always been interested in math and the stock market, making algorithmic stock trading a natural vertical to pursue.

StockTek is an advanced day trading advisor that monitors stocks of interest during the trading session, alerting users to significant events that yielded profitable trades in the past. At its core, the StockTek engine combines real-time monitoring with traditional technical analysis and predictive analytics. An intuitive dashboard interface supports two-click order entry having direct integration with a major online brokerage. In addition to entry point identification, the system recommends when to sell following each buy order execution. During the trading day, users may view and compare the trading activity for all stocks of interest as well as monitor the intra-day performance of their trades.

How it works

Users screen for and add stocks of interest to monitor for the trading day.

The stocks are visible on the user’s dashboard, providing simple metrics for observation and comparison as they trade.

During the trading session, live market data is streamed through the processing engine for all stocks.

The processing engine identifies specific trading patterns and events and generates alerts which are then published to the user’s dashboard.

For each alert generated, more than 30 contextual factors are compiled, combined and compared against StockTek’s analytics model.

Prior to publishing to the dashboard, matching alerts are injected with the average profit made and probability of reaching the recommended sell price when buying the stock at the current price.

Originally a one-time team building exercise, the system has garnered a lot of interest since then, so much so that we’ve spawn a division to build and sell them.

About the machine

Contained in a full-sized replica pinball cabinet, the machine is capable of playing hundreds of vintage pinball tables as well as newer Pinball FX games.

The cabinet has authentic chrome pinball parts and buttons and is completed with custom decal artwork.

Under the hood, the machine has a windows PC, sound system, and input/output controllers.

The custom manufactured cabinet fits a 43″ 4K television for the playfield, and is topped off with a 32″ television for the backglass and 15.6″ LED for the dot matrix display.

Leds, strobe lights, solenoids and contactors are included for force feedback and trigger when bumpers bump and flippers flip during gameplay.

An analog to digital plunger controller and analog nudge sensor are also included. Pull the plunger and watch it pull back on the digital playfield. Push the cabinet side to side and watch the ball move, but be careful not to tilt the machine!
